Official positions — the Secretary of Interior is not double resources

Seven positions, appointed from the Capitol by the President. The Secretary of Interior gives +100% Food, Iron and Coin production — but that is an extra 100% of base production, not double what you normally collect, because your normal collection already includes other bonuses. It does not touch oil. And with no President in your warzone you cannot apply at all. Bonuses feel weaker when the [Conqueror] buff, which lasts 6.5 days, expires.

Official positions are the most misunderstood buff in Last War, and the misunderstanding is expensive: players queue for hours for a Secretary of Interior slot expecting their harvest to double. Here is what the publisher actually says, verbatim.

The seven positions and what each one grants

PositionPowersBuffs
PresidentAppoints and dismisses anyoneHero HP +5%, Hero Attack +5%, Hero Defense +5%
Vice President (V.P)Appoints and dismisses anyone except the PresidentConstruction Speedup +20%, Research Speedup +20%, Training Speed +10%

Secretary of ScienceScience speedup +50%, Construction speedup +25%
Secretary of InteriorFood +100%, Iron +100%, Coin production +100%

"Security of Strategy" is the publisher's own spelling in its English article. We reproduce position names and buff wording exactly as published rather than correcting them, because a corrected name is a name you then cannot find in the client.

+100% is not "double"

This is the sentence worth reading twice. The Secretary of Interior grants an extra 100% of base production — explicitly not double your usual amount. Your normal collection already includes other bonuses stacked on top of base production, so adding one more multiple of the base figure is a smaller relative gain than it looks. The better your other production buffs already are, the smaller the proportional jump.

It also covers food, gold and iron only — not oil. If oil is your bottleneck, this position does nothing for you.

One terminology note, because it will confuse you in-game: the body of First Fun's own article switches to calling the role [Minister of Internal Affairs] partway through. We flag the inconsistency rather than smoothing it over; you may see either string.

No President, no positions

If your warzone currently has no President, you cannot apply for an official position at all. Positions flow from the presidency, and the presidency is won on the map — the leader of the alliance that wins the Capitol becomes President. That is covered in capturing cities and the Capitol.

Why the same position felt stronger last month

Because of the [Conqueror] buff. A warzone that wins as the attacker in Warzone Duel receives [Conqueror] for 6.5 days, and it enhances official position bonuses while it is active. When it lapses, every position in the warzone quietly returns to its base value. Nothing was nerfed; the buff ran out.

How to apply

Tap your avatar, then your server number, to open the Capitol interface. Choose the position, tap Apply, and you are placed in the queue with an expected hold time shown. Plan around that number — the position you get for ten minutes at 3am is not the one to spend your speedups on.
