Kingshot buildings — roles, final specs, and the Town Center levels that gate everything

The Town Center is the level cap for every other building, so a stalled account is almost always a Town Center bottleneck. The gates worth planning around are Lv. 15 (Mysterious Badge), Lv. 20 (Mastery Forging), Lv. 22 (Governor Gear), Lv. 25 (Governor Charm and the Master system) and Lv. 30 (Truegold). Level only one troop camp — all three share the same cap and the same resources.

Growth in Kingshot is one gear turning: the Town Center sets the ceiling for every other building, each Town Center level opens a new system, and each new system feeds back into power, resources and troops. Get the order wrong and you spend a week's resources on something that could not pay you back yet.

Six resources, and only two of them are the real bottleneck

Upgrades consume six resources. At low levels the four basics — Bread, Wood, Stone and Iron — are essentially all of it, and they accumulate from production and gathering whether you pay attention or not. From the thirties onward the binding constraints are Truegold and Tempered Truegold, which come mostly from events and shops. That is why a high-level wall almost never feels like a Bread problem.

Town Center unlock milestones

Community guides disagree wildly about which level opens what. The rows below marked Official have the level number written in Century Games' own help centre; the rest were confirmed directly on our own account. We have not blended the two.

Lv. 15Hero GearVerified in-gameOne of the two largest contributors to hero power.

Lv. 22Governor GearOfficialPermanent personal stat bonuses, always active.

Lv. 25Master systemOfficialNeeds the level and a server-age condition. Level alone will not open it.

Mysterious Badge FAQ
Upon reaching Lv. 20 Town Center, a new “Mastery Forging” button will appear. Tap it to use the Forgehammers on Hero Gear.
Mastery Forging FAQ
Master is a new feature that unlocks when the server reaches a certain age and your Town Center level is greater or equal to 25.
Master system FAQ

Note the double condition on that last one. Reaching Town Center 25 early and waiting for the server clock is strictly better than hitting the server date with the level missing — in the second case you lose days you cannot get back.

Governor Gear and Governor Charm — the decisions you cannot undo

Most building guides list the unlock levels for these two and stop. The far more important fact is that neither is reversible:

Both the gear and the charm cannot be removed.
Gear/Charm removal FAQ
Enhance the Governor Gear at least once before upgrading the Charm on the gear
Charm upgrade FAQ

Two practical consequences. First, there is no "try it and see" — you cannot socket a Charm, dislike the result and pull it back out, so decide which Charm goes on which piece before you commit. Second, if the Charm upgrade button will not respond, that is not a bug: the Governor Gear holding it has never been enhanced. Gear enhancement is a prerequisite for Charm enhancement.

What each one is actually for

Town Center first, always. Nothing can exceed its level, so a blocked account is usually blocked here. The trap is that its own upgrades have prerequisite levels on other buildings — rushing it alone just forces you to pour resources back into whatever it was waiting on.

Embassy is the gateway to alliance play: how many reinforcement troops other Governors can send you, and how large a rally garrison you can hold. If you care about Bear Hunt or fortress content, it goes up early. It also has a rule you can trip over in season content — the publisher notes you cannot enter a Swordland Summit League battlefield while "your Embassy must not contain Reinforcements from other Governors"Battlefield entry FAQ.

Command Center sets your simultaneous march count and Deployment Capacity. On an active server march slots are productivity — gathering, hunting and rallying at the same time is what separates a busy account from a slow one. It is also the only building whose stats carry into some instanced content: "Only Deployment Capacity provided by Command Center is effective" in the Radiant Spire stagesRadiant Spire FAQ.

The three camps raise the tier you can train and how many you can hold. They share the Town Center cap and they cost the same resources, so levelling all three at once is simply slower than levelling one. Pick your main troop type and commit.

Infirmary is the most underrated building on the list. Casualties past its capacity die outright, so on a war-heavy server troop preservation is the same thing as keeping your power. Worth reading alongside our troop-loss guide.

War Academy holds combat tech and troop promotion, and it is visible from outside your account — Century Games lists War Academy Tech first among the factors that determine your Kingdom's progress for Flamedragon Tyrant matchmakingMatchmaking FAQ. Academy holds the development and economy tree: production, march speed, construction speed. It shows up least in your power number and most in your growth curve.

Upgrade priority

OrderTargetReasoning
1Town Center (plus its prerequisite buildings)Opens every other ceiling; the prerequisites have to move with it
2One troop camp + War AcademyThe most direct power increase per resource spent
3InfirmaryOn a war server, preservation is power
4Command Center and EmbassyMarch slots and alliance support — scale to how active you are
5AcademyLeast visible today, decides your curve later

If you take one line from this page, take this one: the three camps share a cap and a resource pool, so levelling all three is a mistake that feels like progress.
